A passionate visual explorer, Amalia Elena Veralli takes us on an expedition into the remarkable structure of flowers. "I photograph my subjects from nature, focusing on one part of a flower, a leaf, or an ice crystal," she says. "This focus allows me to explore the complexity, depth, and color of the form I am photographing."
Her artistic journey includes study at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the University of Vermont, and numerous workshops. She originally focused on black-and-white photography. Turning to pottery making, she owned and operated Warren Village Pottery in Vermont for almost 30 years. Then in 2005 she turned her creative energies to the art of color photography.
Her images have been featured on the Pottery Barn's Art to Collect website, purchased for personal and corporate collections, and won numerous awards. Tide-mark Press publishes Flowers by Amalia Elena Veralli, an annual calendar.
