Beneath the North Atlantic
$39.95
This is one of the first books to explore the North Atlantic Ocean and the creatures living there. Because the North Atlantic is comparatively cold and dark, few photographers find it a productive place to work, but the North Atlantic throngs with life which is both colorful and rarely seen. Beneath the North Atlantic pictures many unique North Atlantic creatures. It also offers a fascinating text which describes these animals and explains how they live. Fished nearly to exhaustion and widely used as a dumping ground, the North Atlantic can again become a rich and renewable source of plenty if we husband its resources intelligently. Beneath the North Atlantic brings a new understanding of the extraordinary range of life beneath the sea and its importance to future generations. Reviews "In this excellent book, the author's fascinating text describes the biology and behaviour of a selection of this marine life. …The text, however, is but an accompaniment to a series of striking and outstanding colour photos, which I would rank as among the best of marine life that I have seen in any book." -Country-side: The National Magazine for Wildlife (England) "Beneath the North Atlantic… is an attractive introduction to the marine biology of the North Atlantic …attractive addition to general collections…" Library Journal160 pages. 120 major photographs in full color.
